Following the Ecuadorian Sunny Coast
7 DAYS / 6 NIGHTS
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN GUAYAQUIL, ECUADOR
At your arrival to Guayaquil, your guide will be waiting for you to meet and transfer you to your hotel where you will overnight.
DAY 2: GUAYAQUIL - MONTAÑITA
After breakfast our guide will be waiting for you in order to explore the city, here you will enjoy the main tourist places, you can walk through the waterfront Malecon, which lines the shore of the Guayas River. You can visit Santa Ana’s Hill with Las Peñas, the old traditional neighborhoods of Guayaquil.
You will walk through this neighborhood where you can find art galleries and open-air expositions. Seminario Park where you can see exotic flycatchers and land iguanas at the ficus trees. The Neo-Gothic Cathedral located behind of the Seminario park gives you an idea of the ancient Guayaquil.
After this visit, our guide will drive you to a local restaurant where you will enjoy a delicious typical lunch. In the afternoon you will continue to Santa Elena province where you can enjoy beautiful beaches like Añangue, Valdivia, and others. In the afternoon you will arrive at Baja Montañita Hotel where you can rest or enjoyment of the famous beach of Montañita. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 3: THE ECUADORIAN BEACHES
After breakfast, you can continue enjoying the beach at Montañita Hotel and the amazing landscape. After lunch our guide will be waiting for you in order to continue with your trip to the north along the Sun Route, the journey through the main and most beautiful beaches of the Ecuadorian coast is one of the best tourist destinations of South America.
It offers you unforgettable days of beach, sun, and nature. In the afternoon you will arrive in Puerto Lopez where you will dinner and overnight. You will have time to rest or enjoying of the excellent extra services of the hotels.
DAY 4: THE AMAZING ISLA DE LA PLATA
After breakfast, our guide will transfer you to the pier where a speed boat will be waiting for you in order to travel to Isla de la Plata (1h30 approximately every way), during the months of July and August you will have the opportunity to see the beautiful humpback whales and probably some dolphins jumping over the sea. Arrive at Isla de la Plata where the guide will let us choose between two trails, the Punta Machete or the Punta Escalera, trekking by any of the trails to the Island (3 hrs approximately).
The “Punta Machete” Trail: This trail takes you to the upper part of the Island, where you can enjoy the primitive nature and amazing landscaping. During the trekking a large population of “Piqueros de Patas Azules (blue-footed boobies)”.
“Piqueros Enmascarados (Nazca boobies)” and other species can be watched. During the months of May through December the Albatross, which are the migratory birds with the largest wings in the world, nest in the area.
The “Punta Escalera” Trail: this trail borders one side of the Island. Colonies of “Piqueros de Patas Azules (Blue footed boobies)”, “Piqueros Enmascarados (Nazca boobies” and “Fragatas” can be watched. “ Piqueros Patas Rojas (Red footed boobies),” can be watched in the lower section of the cliffs.
Box Lunch and in the afternoon we will have time to Snorkeling near the Island. After a full day of activities, you will return to Puerto Lopez and then to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY 5: FRAILES & AGUA BLANCA MUSEUM
After breakfast you can continue enjoying the sun, sand and the sea, also you can visit two interesting places inside of Machalilla National Park; first, you can visit “Los Frailes” beach that is considered one of the ten most beautiful beaches in the world. Frailes is the largest, white sand and calm and transparent waters beach. There is a watchtower where the magnificent landscaping of the cliffs, beaches, and virgin forests can be observed.
Second, you can visit Agua Blanca which is an “in situ” museum where you can appreciate archaeological ruins conserved until now. Those ruins formed a solar calendar that ancient people used to celebrate special rituals in the solstice of winter and summer.
Also, you can see funeral urns of Manteña culture (the ancient people that lived in this area). At the end of the trail you can take a bath in a sulfurous’ lake water and medicinal mood, local people know this place as “the natural SPA of the zone” (this tour includes a native guide). After this visit, you will return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6: PACOCHE RESERVE – MANTA
After a delicious breakfast, our guide will be waiting for you to depart to the north until arriving at Manta, on the route you will stop at Pacoche Reserve, a place located in one of the last remnants of semi-tropical dry forest of the Ecuadorian coast, just at 20 minutes from Manta. Pacoche forest is a green patch in the middle of a semi-desert area of the coast of Manabi. Its fascinating microclimate is home to 152 species of birds recorded, 22% of them are endemic to the forests of the Tumbesian region and 14% are at some level of risk of extinction by the IUCN.
Besides you can find mammal species like Howler monkeys and others. Lunch in the Lodge of the reserve and in the afternoon our guide will transfer you to Manta’s city where our guide will drive you to your hotel where you will overnight.
DAY 7: MANTA – QUITO
After breakfast, you will have free time to enjoy this beautiful coastal city and the most important beach “El Murciélago”. Its name comes from its shape like a bat with outstretched wings, is a crowded beach in the port of Manta that is decorated with a scenic waterfront, tourists prefer it all year. After lunch, our guide will drive you to the airport in order to catch your flight to Quito.
